Visit the birthplace of Mozart in Salzburg and tour various film locales from "The Sound of Music". In Munich, see the famous Glockenspiel, the Olympic site and the Nymphenburg Palace. Students will also have the opportunity to hear music performances and perform.


In the heart of Bavaria lies the great city of Munich. Home to many important German cultural centers, Munich has endless historical sites to explore. Also be sure to enjoy the nearby village of Hohenschwangau with its royal palaces and gorgeous lodges.

Salzburg is famous for its stunning city centers, palaces and quaint alpine lodges. The city is also home to Mozart and was the principal filming location for the Sound of Music.
Day 1
• Board your overnight flight to Vienna!
Day 2
• Arrive in Vienna
• Check in to hotel
• Guided Tour of Vienna - Experience the highlights of this city including the Ringstrasse boulevard, Parliament buildings, State Opera House, City Hall and the majestic Hofburg Palace
• Leisure Time in Vienna – Explore Vienna at your own pace
Day 3
• Guided Tour of Schonbrunn Palace - The former summer residence of the Habsburg’s, is yours to explore
• State Opera – The Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) has a history dating back to the mid-19th century
Day 4
• Heiligenstadt - Visit the Austria community of Heiligenstadt and its featured location, the Beethovenhaus, where the famous musician lived until his death in 1827
Day 5
• Transfer to Salzburg
• Melk Abbey - En route to Salzburg, experience Melk Abbey, a reconstruction of the monastery at Melk that burned in 1297, 1683 and 1735
• Walking Tour of Baroque Old Town - Your tour guide will take you through this historic section of Salzburg, home to many architectural wonders and significant Austrian events
Day 6
• The Sound of Music Tour - Check out highlights of the famous film such as the Do-Re-Me bridge, the Abbey on the Monschberg and the church of Mondsee
• Mozart Museum - Mozart’s birthplace is now converted into a museum dedicated to the life of this enigmatic composer
Day 7
• Guided Tour of the Hellbrunn Castle - Enjoy a tour of this magnificent castle where students will be entertained and dazzled by the Wasserspiele trick fountains
• Sound of Music Dinner Show – Students will enjoy this amazing dinner show. Prior to the performance, groups will have the opportunity to interact and engage directly with the 'Sound of Music' choir – school choirs may even be given the opportunity to perform with them!
Day 8
• Transfer to Munich
• Guided Tour of Munich - This tour touches on all the main sites of this city, including the Marienplatz with its famous Glockenspiel, the museum district and the Frauenkirche, Die Alte Pinakothek (Old Art Museum), Gothic Church of Our Lady, Olympic Stadium, German Museum and the Hofbrauhaus
Day 9
• Dachau Concentration Camp - Visitors today can tour the infamous compound that housed over 200,000 prisoners during its twelve year operation
Day 10
• Depart for your return flight home
