Tour London’s major highlights from the comfort of your motor coach, stopping off to visit the finest military museum in England, The Imperial War Museum. En route to Belgium, you’ll visit World War I sites; notably Beaumont Hamel, where the Newfoundland Regiment took colossal losses on July 1, 1916 during the Battle of the Somme; Vimy Ridge with its magnificent Memorial; Ypres and several other key military sites nearby.

One of the world’s most important cities, London is a cultural and historical highpoint of any European tour. Stroll among the city’s famous parks, tour one of the world-class museums and take in the spectacular views from the famous London Eye.

Students will visit Essex Farm Cemetery, the site that inspired Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae to write his famous poem “In Flanders Fields.” A stop at the Flanders Fields Museum showcases some of the most prevalent events of WWI.

A cultural hub in Northern France, Normandy is also home to historic villages, beautiful Norman Castles, and the infamous battle sites on the region’s beaches.

Chateau du Molay

This beautiful Chateau is located near the village of Molay Littry in Normandy. It is set on 38 acres of land which also includes a full size soccer/rugby pitch. Located just 15km from the D-Day landing beaches, the Chateau du Molay provides the perfect accommodation for any WWII history and language groups.

Day 1

• Board your overnight flight to London

Day 2

• Arrive in London
• Guided Tour of London - Experience a half day guided walking tour of London which will include famous landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben
• Enjoy a Trip on the London Eye - Ride the largest Ferris wheel in all of Europe!

Day 3

• Buckingham Palace - Throw yourself into the pageantry of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, both the office and London residence of Her Majesty the Queen
• Imperial War Museum – The Trench and Blitz experience which places students in the perspective of a soldier fighting in the First World War
• Tate Modern Gallery - The gallery is a spectacular display of international modern art, dating back from the 1900’s to the present day
Day 4
• Canterbury - Take a visit to the Canterbury Cathedral where thousands of pilgrims and visitors have made their way since the Middle Ages
• Transfer to Normandy

Day 5

• Tour of the D-Day Beaches - Featuring the Sword, Juno and Gold Beaches
• Bény-sur-Mer Canadian Military Cemetery - This cemetery predominantly holds Canadian soldiers killed during the early stages of the Battle of Normandy in WWII
• Juno Beach Centre and exhibits at Courseulles-sur-Mer - The only significant Canadian memorial that marks our World War II achievements

Day 6

• Sant Malo and Mont St. Michel - Sant Malo is a walled English Channel port city while Mont St. Michel is a rocky tidal island located approximately one kilometre off the country's north coast

Day 7

• Abbaye d’Ardenne - Visit the Abbaye which was used by the Germans as an observation post during WWII
• Mesnil Patry – This is the site of the Canadian land forces’ last big operation in Normandy
• Longues-sur-mer – Visit the guns at this location followed by a stop at the American Cemetery and Memorial, Pointe due Hoc Ranger Monument and La Cambe

Day 8

• Somme Battlefield - One of the biggest and bloodiest battles in recorded history, and resulted in more than 1.5 million casualties
• Vimy Ridge - Situated just across the borders of Belgium and France, was the location of perhaps the most notable victory in Canada's military history
• Beaumont Hamel Newfoundland Memorial Park- This site provides you with a tour of the infamous trenches that defined combat in WWI
• Lunch at Ocean Villas Tea Rooms
• Thiepval Memorial - The largest British war memorial in the world

Day 9

• Ypres Salient - Visit the Essex Farm Cemetery, the site that inspired Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae to write his famous poem “In Flanders Fields” and the Flanders Fields Museum
• Tyne Cot British Cemetery - This cemetery was erected on top of the land that acted as a stage for one of the deadliest battles in history
• Transfer to Bruges
• Tour of Canals - Spend the afternoon travelling through this scenic town's canal system

Day 10

• Transfer to Amsterdam
• Rijksmuseum - This museum, renowned for its amazing collection of 15th-17th century paintings, is a must see location
• Anne Frank House - For more than two years Anne Frank and her family lived in hiding in the annex of this building at Prinsengracht 263
• Tour of Canals - Many local residents still use these canals for transportation and relaxing weekend activities

• Depart for your return flight home
